Beneath the waves, there are few sights more astonishing than one of these graceful wavekin in motion, its elegant membranes resembling a flowing ballroom dress. Far less breathtaking is its appearance when raised out of the water on an angler's line, where its appearance is something akin to an innkeeper's mop, hence the name.
